The month of September has been a blur for the University of Calgary Oneball Chapter. The execs of the chapter have been hard at work planning events, advocating and recruiting members during Clubs Week at the U of C. We're happy to say that the month has been a rousing success.
Our booth in the Macewan Student Centre for Clubs Week was the biggest focus of our time for the month of September. The club was recruiting new members every day for hours, and the potential student members were excited to learn more. “The people running the booth were so engaging,” said Leslie Truong, a university student, who went on to say, “I liked the hats, they were a great incentive to get involved.”
Other students like Christian Hazel were excited to see the club, saying “I think it’s time some students started talking about testicular cancer,” adding that “the booth was super bright, the exec were eager to engage students and the hats were awesome!” Even members of the student body who didn’t join the club were eager to see what was going on.
We’re extremely excited to have more than 60 new Oneball Ucalgary chapter members, and can’t wait to see how far we can go. September 30th was the welcome night for new members, and at that meeting we started to get down to the business of talking about balls.
